About

ABOUT US:

New South Wales Wheelchair Rugby League (NSWWRL) has proudly been the governing body for Wheelchair Rugby League in NSW since its establishment in September 2010. As a state branch of Wheelchair Rugby League Australia Incorporated, we are committed to growing, managing, and promoting the sport across the state.

Since its inception, NSWWRL has played a vital role in increasing awareness and providing opportunities for athletes of all abilities—whether they have a disability, an injury, or are able-bodied—to play Rugby League together on an equal playing field. Our affiliation with New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) has been instrumental in supporting and expanding all forms of disability rugby league within the state.

We take pride in being at the forefront of developing and growing Wheelchair Rugby League. Since our first competition in 2010, NSWWRL has expanded from a single-tier league to a two-tiered competition, creating pathways for players of all skill levels. Additionally, our Country vs City representative event has become a highlight of the season, allowing us to showcase the sport in regional NSW and lay the foundation for future sub-branches across the state.

As we continue to drive inclusion, innovation and excellence, NSWWRL remains dedicated to ensuring Wheelchair Rugby League is accessible, competitive, and thriving across NSW.
